Bing Chat is an AI-powered chatbot that can communicate fluently in multiple languages. It is developed and maintained by Microsoft, and Bing Chat is one of their many products that use AI as part of their new 365 copilot offerings.
Bing Chat is powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4, which makes sense given their $10B investment in OpenAI that was announced in January 2023.
Bing Chat has a wide range of use cases, including customer service, personal assistance, and entertainment. Bing Chat is also integrated with Microsoft Teams.
In March 2023, Microsoft announced that the new Bing search engine runs on OpenAI’s GPT-4 language model.
Bing Chat & DALL-E 3
Microsoft has recently integrated OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 text-to-image model into Bing Chat and Bing Image Creator.
DALL-E 3 is one of the leaders in the text-to-image generation space, with key competitors like Midjourney and Stable Diffusion. Given that Midjourney requires you to use Discord, while Bing Chat incorporates DALLE-3 with simple natural language prompts, it's likely this integration will pose a serios challenge to the other AI image generation startups.
It builds on the success of previous DALL-E models and generates images that are even more photorealistic, creative, and artistic.
You can try out the new art generation system at Bing.com/create or by asking “create an image” in Bing Chat.
With Microsoft’s recent investment in OpenAI, we can expect Bing Chat to continue improving and releasing interesting products to watch in the coming months and years.
