This week in AI, Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI for abandoning it's original mission, and Mistral AI released a new model: Mistral Large.

Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman for abandoning the nonprofit's original mission in favor of profit.

The lawsuit alleges breach of contract, claiming OpenAI was initially meant to be open source and not for profit.
Musk argues OpenAI shifted focus from artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefiting humanity to profit-making, criticizing its partnership with Microsoft.

Mistral AI released a new flagship model: Mistral Large.

Key features of the model include a 32k context window, fluency in 5 languages, and native function calling.
The Paris based startup also announced a new partnership with Microsoft to provide their models on Azure, as well as a $16M investment in the company.

Figure - Raised a $675M Series B Round

What they do: Figure is an AI robotics company that builds a multi-purpose humanoid form robot. The company has created a humanoid robot with the purpose of being introduced into the workforce to tackle problems such as labor shortages, and undesirable or unsafe jobs, and to assist in global supply chain operations.

Glean - Raised a $200M Series D round

What they do: Glean is a search engine that focuses on helping find any piece of data through a tool in any company. Its software is combined with multiple platforms to find exact data points and provides relevant search results from all the user's applications.
Location: Palo Alto, California

Ideogram - Raised a $80M Series A Round

What they do: Ideogram offers state-of-the-art functionalities, enabling individuals to explore and experiment with creative endeavors through the use of generative AI.
Location: Toronto, Canada
